Web Site Hosting Application
CASE has several options for hosting member web sites. Sites running from content management systems such as Joomla! or Wordpress will benefit from the use of dedicated hardware owned and operated by CASE from our own facility. System Administrators configure systems to the specific needs or our members and apply stringent security measures to ensure a robust venue where private data is treated as highly confidential. CASE also resells hosting from large Australian owned/operated data centres for those sites requiring large amounts of storage or very high speed connections. Our helpful staff will work with members to determine the appropriate resouces for their sites.
Please complete the following application, print, sign and post with payment to order your web site. Your site will be available a few days after your payment is received by the Treasurer and a project member will contact you to arrange moving any content you currently have or to assist you in developing new content for your site. Project members do not develop sites for members however it is possible that other members would be able to assist you either voluntarily or for a fee.

Account Management
Member organisations must authorise a contact person available by e-mail for the online services team to liase with. All correspondence with the contact person will be copied to the organisation's representative as recorded in the CASE membership database. No instructions or requests will be actioned by team members from non-authorised members of member organisations.
Volume Limit
Member sites have a traffic allowance of approximately 250Meg per day. For a site with with 5Meg of content (which is quite large) 50 visitors would have to download your entire site before reaching this limit. This would be highly unlikely and a more reasonable example would be a site such as CASE, where the typical visitor downloads less than 200k of information - translating to 500 visitors before the daily limit would be reached.
It is the users responsibility to monitor traffic using the available site statistic tools. In practice, it is unlikely that CASE sites would create volumes that members would have to be concerned about but responsibility does remain with the owner of the site for excess charges due to traffic. CASE project members also monitor site traffic and will attempt to contact members if a trend develops however, CASE takes no responsibility for providing this information.
The web space that CASE provides is shared by members. This is why we state your allowance as an approximate amount - the need to charge for excess volume would only be required if all member sites were to create significant traffic over a period of time. So you can see that charges for excess volume are unlikely. The charge for excess volume is calculated as follows:
If the total web traffic used by CASE members begins to incur additional charges, our supplier will notify us (they check usage patterns twice a month). We will identify which CASE member site/s are creating the traffic (which your log reports should already have informed you of) and then at the end of the calendar month if your site is significantly over the limit and the average use of the other seven sites, you will be charged $5 per 10Meg of overuse.
It is unlikely that these conditions will occur and the online services project team will endeavour to ensure that no member is disadvantaged or incurs unexpected charges. We are all working together on this project to ensure it is remains a valuable resource to us all. Project members have arranged for daily statistics to be available to all CASE web sites which you may view on the web using a password that will be provided to you.
